【摘要】:Instructuralsealantglazingsystems,thesealantfunctionsasthestructuraladhesiveandmayalsofunctionastheprimaryweatherseal.Asthestructuraladhesive,theintegrityoftheadhesivebondiscritical.Changesincolorandadhesionafterexposurearetwoofthecriteriathatcanbeusedtodeterminethecompatibilityofthesystem.Experiencehasshownthataccessoriesthatcauselossofadhesionordiscolorationinthistestmethodmayalsocausetheseoccurrencesinactualuse.1.1Thistestmethodcoversalaboratoryscreeningprocedurefordeterminingthecompatibilityofliquid-appliedstructuralsealantglazingsealantswhenincontactwithaccessoriessuchasdryglazinggaskets,spacers,shims,andsettingblocksafterexposuretoheatandultravioletlight.1.2Thistestmethodincludestheobservationofthreeparametersasfollows:1.2.1Changesinthecolorofthesealant,1.2.2Changesintheadhesionofthesealanttoglass,and1.2.3Changesintheadhesionofthesealanttotheaccessorybeingtested.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Note18212;Atthistime,nocomparableISOstandardexists.

【摘要】:Eddy-currentexaminationisanondestructivemethodoflocatingdiscontinuitiesinaproduct.Signalscanbeproducedbydiscontinuitieslocatedeitherontheexternalorinternalsurfaceofthetubeorbydiscontinuitiestotallycontainedwithinthewalls.Sincethedensityofeddycurrentsdecreasesnearlyexponentiallyasthedistancefromtheexternalsurfaceincreases,theresponsetodeep-seateddefectsdecreases.Someindicationsobtainedbythismethodmaynotberelevanttoproductquality;forexample,arejectsignalmaybecausedbyminutedentsortoolchattermarksthatarenotdetrimentaltotheenduseoftheproduct.Irrelevantindicationscanmaskunacceptablediscontinuities.Relevantindicationsarethosewhichresultfromnonacceptablediscontinuities.Anyindicationabovetherejectlevelthatisbelievedtobeirrelevantshallberegardedasunacceptableuntilitisdemonstratedbyre-examinationorothermeanstobeirrelevant(see10.3.2).Eddy-currentexaminationsystemsaregenerallynotsensitivetodiscontinuitiesadjacenttotheendsofthetube(endeffect).On-lineeddy-currentexaminingwouldnotbesubjecttoendeffect.Discontinuitiessuchasscratchesorseamsthatarecontinuousanduniformforthefulllengthofthetubemaynotalwaysbedetected.1.1Thispracticecoverstheproceduresthatshallbefollowedineddy-currentexaminationofcopperandcopper-alloytubesfordetectingdiscontinuitiesofaseveritylikelytocausefailureofthetube.Theseproceduresareapplicablefortubeswithoutsidediametersto31/8in.(79.4mm),inclusive,andwallthicknessesfrom0.017in.(0.432mm)to0.120in.(3.04mm),inclusive,orasotherwisestatedinASTMproductspecifications;orbyotherusersofthispractice.Theseproceduresmaybeusedfortubesbeyondthesizerangerecommended,uponcontractualagreementbetweenthepurchaserandthemanufacturer.1.2Theproceduresdescribedinthispracticearebasedonmethodsmakinguseofencirclingannulartestcoilsystems.1.3Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Note1-Thispracticemaybeusedasaguidelinefortheexamination,bymeansofinternalprobetestcoilsystems,ofinstallationsusingtubularproductswheretheoutersurfaceofthetubeisnotaccessible.Forsuchapplications,thetechnicaldifferencesassociatedwiththeuseofinternalprobecoilsshouldberecognizedandaccommodated.Theeffectofforeignmaterialsonthetubesurfaceandsignalsduetotubesupportsaretypicalofthefactorsthatmustbeconsidered.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
