【摘要】:Vinylsidingwithhigherrigidityshouldbeeasiertoinstallandisexpectedtoprovideastraighterappearancewheninstalledonwallshavinganunevensurface.Therigidityofvinylsidingisbelievedtobecontrolledprimarilyitscharacteristicconfigurationandisnotbelievedtobesignificantlyinfluencedbymanufacturingvariables.Sidingweightcanbeshowntohavelittleinfluenceonthistest.1.1Thisproceduredescribesamethodtodetermineanumericalvalueindicatingtherelativerigidityorstiffnessofvinylsidingpanels.Thisprocedureisnotintendedforroutinequalitycontrolinspectionduringthemanufactureofvinylsiding.Therigidityofvinylsidingisbelievedtobecontrolledprimarilybyitsconfigurationandisnotbelievedtobesignificantlyinfluencedbymanufacturingvariables.1.2Vinylsidingwithhigherrigidityshouldbeeasiertohandleandinstall.Itisexpectedtoprovideastraighterappearancewheninstalledonwallswhichhaveanunevensurface.1.3AllothervinylsidingrequirementsandtestmethodscanbeidentifiedthroughSpecificationD3679.1.4ThereisnoknownISOequivalenttothisstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.

【摘要】:Theinteriordimensionsareimportantpropertiesinthegeneralconstructionofabox,andaccuratemethodsofmeasurementarerequiredforresearchwork,routinecontrol,andacceptancetestingforconformancetospecifications.Forcontainerstocarryandprotecttheircontentseffectivelyandefficiently,thecontainersmustbeofproperanduniformsize.Thismethodinvolvesadegreeofhumanjudgmentandassumescarefulandaccurateplacementandreadingofspecifiedapparatus.MethodA,MeasuringLotofBoxes8212;determinesifalot(i.e.,productionrun)iswithinspecifiedtoleranceforeachdimension(length,width,anddepth).Aminimumoffivespecimensaremeasured.Thetestresultforeachdimensionistheindividualmeasurementsofthatdimensiononallspecimens.Ifanytestresultisoutsideofaspecifiedtolerance,thatboxspecimenshouldbere-measuredusingMethodBtodeterminefinaltestresults.MethodB,MeasuringSingleBoxes8212;determinesifoneparticularboxiswithinspecifiedtoleranceforeachdimension.Thetestresultforeachdimensionistheaverageofallmeasurementsofthatdimension.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftheinteriordimensionsofregularslottedorspecialslottedstylesofsingle-wallcorrugated,double-wallcorrugated,andsolidfiberboardboxes.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
